... Who would buy it?
That there is the big question. As much as people have been prodding me to do this, I've been thinking about it rather heavily lately. Truth is, whenever anyone asks me about a recipe, I usually tell them that I don't write any down. Which for the most part is true. Lately, I have gotten better about actually writing down some recipes but, still forget to quite a bit. Now you might be wondering how someone intends to write a cook book if they don't usually write down recipes. In the past, I always told people to make the food that I make, it would be better if I just showed them how I cooked. In the case of a book, I plan to do just that. That is why I am calling it a cooking book and not a cook book. To me, most cook books are just a series of recipes. Yes, if you follow them you will make one good dish, you may even be inspired to create your own variation as well but, that's about it. Now for those who are already great cooks, trying out new recipes is fun because, they know all the techniques used and understand how and why they work but, for those aren't the greatest cooks or don't have a lot of confidence when it comes to cooking, new recipes can be scary things. My intention is to explain how I cook, how I go about creating meals, and what I do when I want to come up with new cooking ideas. Now, mind you, I will be the one writing this book so it will no doubt be filled with my own personal thoughts and opinions along with the occasional story and maybe even a recipe or two. Since it would appear that I have some strange addiction to taking pictures of my cooking, you can bet that there will be quite a few of my own pictures in the book. Not being a professional photographer, the pictures won't always be the best but, they will be real. So, that is a plan. A cooking book, written by a guy with no real formal cooking training, containing only a few actual recipes, and with quite a bit of unprofessional photography. Still not sure how I will get it published or who would actually buy it but, I guess it has to get written first.
