My idea of Pork and Beans! PDF Print E-mail

As some of you might know, I'm trying to shrink myself. Now most would think that this would involve eating a lot of tasteless, un-appealing food. That's not how I roll. As an example, I made this for dinner the other night.

It's Pork and Beans, my way! How is this healthy? Well, beans are naturally very healthy for you, even ones from the can and, the pork was Pork Loin Steak which is very lean. This is how I cooked it.
I started off by giving the pork a gentle rub down of Pig Pollen. Then in a large skillet I put in a couple of table spoons of Grape Seed Oil over medium low heat. Once this skillet was warm, in went the pork.

After the steaks had turned white half way up from the bottom, abou 7 mins, I gave them a flip and then tossed in half a large yellow sweet onion.

I put a lid on the skillet on this point and after about 6 minutes I dropped the temp down to Low heat and spooned some Cranberry BBQ Sauce over each piece of meat.

The pork was stirred around with the onions and the lid was put back on for 5 more minutes. (Make sure to move your pork around during this time or it might burn.) While this was going on, I had some Busch's Homestyle beans warmed up in another pot on the stove. All that was left to do was to lay down half a cup of beans, put the meat on, and then top with some onions.

My family thought this combo was a little corny at first and thought, once again, I had lost my mind but, this was quickly replaced with lots of "Mmmmm"s and nods of approval. I myself thought it was a fantastic combo and would totally consider this comfort food.

Thanks for looking!
